JEWELS, FASHION AND SHOWS AT CHARM
The first weekend of the May gold jewellery fair featured
beauty and the most refined art of gold jewellery
Buyers arrived for the first weekend of Charm, the Vicenza Fair spring gold jewellery show, after the inauguration with participation by Mario Boselli, president of the Italian Chamber of Fashion, who welcomed the exhibition as a venue for products linked closely to fashion. Italian and international buyers, talent scouts and designers came from France, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan, all looking for the latest in terms of jewels, fashion and design.
Glamroom, which debuted yesterday with an exceptional special guest, the actress Claudia Gerini, and where the partnership between fashion and jewellery comes together, attracted the interest of the most famous names in the world of fashion, including McArthur Glen, which owns fifteen designer outlet centres in Europe and the United Kingdom and hosts more than 1300 shops of 700 big brands; ANA, the Japanese airline company and well-known Italian names such as the Florentine concept store, Luisa Via Roma.
Today the fair also saw the arrival of a guest on the Nardelli Gioielli stand, licensee for the Liu Jo brand, in the shape of the Neapolitan beauty, Paola Frizziero, who was perfectly at home answering questions from the Italian and foreign press. With a degree in languages and foreign culture, she became famous thanks to her participation in the television programme “Uomini e donne” on Canale 5, presented by Maria de Filippi.
But Charm also means fashion and glamour thanks to Radio Montecarlo, the fashion’s official radio station. Famous deejay Maurizio Di Maggio was at the fair as well and handed the microphone over to emerging gold jewellery designers. Every day, for the duration of the fair, at 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm Radio MonteCarlo will be broadcasting interviews with protagonists at the gold show, and from tomorrow (19 May 2008, - Ed.) these will also be online on the dedicated blog at http://blog.radiomontecarlo.net/dimaggio.php.
There are several appointments on the agenda for Monday 19 May. Starting at 9.00 am in the Trissino Room with the technical seminar entitled “Guidelines for strategy media”, promoted by the Vicenza Fair and Il Sole 24Ore and offering an in-depth look at communication strategies and media mix in the jewellery sector. Fabio Vaccarono, director general of the System concessionary company owned by Il Sole 24Ore Group, will be one of the seminar speakers.
From 12.00 to 5.00 pm, again in the Trissino Room, there will be meetings for specialist operators organised by the Federation of Gold Jewellery, Silverware and Watch Retailers.
