CHARM GIVES A 360° OVERVIEW OF THE GOLD JEWELLERY SECTOR
In-depth encounters and seminars dedicated to the sector
continue at the Vicenza Fair
Springtime at CHARM means showcasing gold and jewellery. But also design, fashion and everything else linked to the concept of excellence and style. With contamination finding its clearest expression in the absolute new entry Glamroom, the new area set up by the Vicenza Fair in Pavilions F and G to lend a voice to parallel yet complementary worlds, in other words jewellery and fashion.
The entire programme of CHARM appointments rotates around these two themes in its aim to become the mid-year benchmark event for the gold jewellery sector, with spotlights firmly on the key points: "Made in Italy" and "innovation".
Alongside the over 1400 exhibitors that until Wednesday 21 May are housed in Via dell’Oreficeria, a busy calendar continues with specialist meetings, technical conventions and in-depth seminars to check the pulse of this market, offer discussion about the sector's "hot" issues and put forward new operational methods to promote international competitiveness.
It also consolidates cooperation between the Vicenza Fair and important realities in the gold sector, including the Federdettaglianti degli Orafi, Gioiellieri, Argentieri e Orologiai d’Italia (Italian Federation of Gold, Jewellery, Silverware and Watch Retailers), the World Gold Council and the TJF Group.
The meeting held on Monday 19 May in the Trissino Room dedicated to the relationship between the jewellery world and communication was particularly thought-provoking: a chance to reiterate the need for rethinking of strategies linked to advertising and communication investment by operators in the sector. In this context, jewellery and gold show a need to learn how to build focussed planning that fully meets company requirements, improving the effectiveness of the message conveyed, with more accurate identification of objectives and targets. The world of fashion can suggest communication models in this direction that have decreed the success of Italian style throughout the world, creating brand value and awareness. Although problems in the different sectors are totally different in industrial terms, a possible affinity is apparent in application of these models.
Today (Tuesday 20 May 2009, - Ed.), again in the Trissino Room, attention shifted to awareness and application of logics and tools for evaluating organisation performance and improving management of organisational structures. Concepts that must become part of the priorities of companies in the sector if they are to become critical success factors.
Finally, Radio MonteCarlo, the official radio of fashion, continues to broadcast adverts and interviews with the protagonists of CHARM, for further confirm the link between gold, fashion and glamour. The voice of deejay Maurizio Di Maggio will be introducing comments and opinions from designers, stylists and emerging goldsmiths: until tomorrow on air at 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm and also online on the Radio MonteCarlo blog (http://blog.radiomontecarlo.net/dimaggio.php).
